So far in 2026 Julian has written four new articles which have been published online and in print by Build It Magazine.

Through the years Julian has had a lot of experience in guiding people through their first self build project, from putting together the initial brief, through to completion on site. He has also worked as a dispute adjudicator for the RIBA and has seen first hand the common ways a self-build project can go wrong.

In the UK most people think ‘exposed locations’ are limited to coastlines, but in Julian’s article he goes over some of the other areas which would count as exposed locations, and how to deal with the issues raised.
