Domestic Extensions - Renovations and extensions to existing property, Higham, Derbyshire

A new fully glazed green oak cruck frame inserted into the existing rear elevation helps to maximise the spectacular view across the amber valley and also allows light to flood into the interior.

This scheme incorporates two sizeable side extensions to an existing dormer bungalow and raises the height of the roof to improve the existing 1st floor accommodation.

The site is in a conservation area and on the edge of an area of outstanding natural beauty. Due to the nature of this sensitive setting a palette of traditional, durable materials were considered essential and were selected early in the design process.
