Domestic Extensions - New mezzanine floor and associated refurbishment, The Park, Nottingham

The brief for this project evolved from the clients requiring extra sleeping accomation for their growing family in their 1 bedroom flat in The Park Conservation Area, Nottingham.

The proposal involved constructing a new mezzanine ‘bed deck’ in the existing double height living space.

Due to the listed nature of the property and it’s period features, the new addition was designed to have minimal impact on the existing structure . The predominantly timber material pallette, which includes the bespoke staircase, was chosen to complement the traditional decor whilst allowing the proposal to be understood as a stand alone contemporary addition.
