Non-Domestic Projects - New funeral directors and mortuary, Bradford

Julian Owen Associates have a track record designing mortuaries and refurbishing Funeral Parlours. In this case the clients decided that a completely new building was required to replace the existing funeral directors, which they had just bought from a local family business. The building was purpose-designed, with viewing chapel, a room for religious and secular community meetings, a state of the art embalming room and a mortuary. Rather than hide the funeral cars in a garage, it was decided to put them behind a large plate glass window, looking out onto one of the main aterial routes into Bradford, as an advertisement. Refurbishements of existing funeral directors have been carried our for the same client in Bristol, Shepton Mallet, Bath, Birmingham (including facilities for Muslim clients), Northampton, Coventry, Leicester, Rushden, Leeds, Scarborough, South London and Doncaster.
